On Saturday, September 29th, the Middle School Lady Apaches cross country team travelled to Tipp Valley for the very last race of the season. Unable to compete as a team at conference, the girls set out to reach their individual goals of the season and came out stronger than ever.
Out of 73 athletes ranging from 6th to 8th grade, 6th grader Ivy Beamer placed 50th at her first ever conference meet with the time of 15:20. Grace LaMar, an eighth grader, finished her middle school season with a seasonal PR of 15:34 and placed close to her teammate at 52nd.
For the first time in a few years, the Wabash Middle School Girls Cross Country team was able to compete as a team for majority of the season. With prospects of future teams continuing to grow, the Lady Apaches finished their season strong and are already ready to return again next fall.
