The Wabash Middle School XC team travelled to a county competitor’s home course to race against 8 other schools on August 27th. The Lady Apaches were able to beat the heat at the Southwood Classic by placing as a team for the first time in 2 years.
Competing together and running in her first race, 5th grader Ashleigh Hadley came in for the Lady Apaches at 16:52 in 30th place. 8th header Grace LaMar led the Wabash trio of girls coming in 37th with a time of 19:07. Following, came 5th grader Ava Bishir at a time of 19:17 and stepping up to take 38th place. The third Lady Apache of the group was 6th grader Ivy Beamer who came in 39th with a time of19:22. Maya Howard, a 5th grader, finished in 41st place with a time of 20:23.
With new to the scene runners, the Lady Apaches look forward to continuing their season and posing as a worth competitor for future races. The Wabash Middle School Lady Apaches will be competing again this weekend at the Marion Invitational held at Indiana Wesleyan.
