The HS lady Apaches finished their season on Saturday October 17th at the Marion Regionals. Running with 88 athletes, the duo started the race strong. Running ahead of goal pace for the first mile, Hall and Kugler stayed together the entire race. Coming into the two mile mark, the Apaches pressed on. Fighting off those trying to pass by increasing their speed. Pushing each other to the finish, the duo knew that career PRs were set as they crossed the finish line. The race was won in their eyes as they conquered what they set out to do; reaching the 23’s.
Senior Sierra Hall, finishing her last race of her high school career with a fight to place came in with a career PR time of 23:50. Coming in right behind her was freshman Calisen Kugler, with a career best time of 25:51. Hall and Kugler rounded out their season with 73rd and 74th place over all in their regional race. The Apaches finished their seasons with integrity, allowing no fear to come in between them and their personal best races. The season of 2020 served the Apaches many challenges and uncertainties, all of which they faced with determination to see the season through. We can’t wait to see what season 2021 has in store!
