The Lady Apaches returned to Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday, October 6th to compete at Sectionals. With heat rising after the rainfall, the XC team competed with 58 athletes for their shot at qualifying for Regionals.
After pushing through the heat and humidity, Senior Whitney Working walked away with 13th place with a time of 22:27. Angel Wehrly, a Junior, came in next for the team with a time of 25:33 and taking away 32nd place. Another Junior, Camille Kugler, came in at 28:51 and finished in 45th place. Next was Sierra Hall, a Sophomore, with a time of 29:35 and taking home 48th place. After the advancement of the top 5 teams, Whitney Working and Angel Wehrly had advanced individually onto Regionals.
The girls will return to Indiana Wesleyan next Saturday, October 13th for the IHSAA Regionals in hopes to see one more week of Cross Country to Semi-State.
