On October 19th, the individual Lady Apache set off for Fort Wayne to compete at the Semi-State competition hosted by New Haven. Having returned, Senior Whitney Working finished off her season feeling satisfied and accomplished after knowing that she is the first female athlete from Wabash unofficially since before 2009 to find herself at a semi-state competition, not once, but twice.
Working completed her senior year with a time of 21:21. Out of 178 athletes, she came home with 108th place. Keeping consistent with her place and time from two years prior, Working walked away with a sense of accomplishment over her season finale.
The Lady Apaches have all met personal success this season due to their hard work and dedication. The ending of this season finished off with new goals, new strategies, and new hope for next season as the girls team mentally prepares for next fall.
