The 6th Grade Lady Apaches Basketball team made their way to county rival Southwood Middle School Monday evening. In the first quarter, the Lady Apaches fought through adversity with missed breakaway layups and foul trouble. It was Lilly Shear who pushed the team forward in the first half, due to Logan Wright getting into early foul trouble. Shear had 15 rebounds, 5 blocks, 4 points, and 3 steals. Bryleigh Boggs played pressure defense on the Lady Knights by getting 6 steals, 4 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Wright came back strong in the second half after battling first half foul trouble, rejoining Shear in the post to continue their big night getting rebound after rebound, and defensively keeping the Knights out of the paint. Wright finished with her second straight double double finishing the night with 14 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 Blocks and 1 steal.

B Game Recap:

The Lady Apaches beat Southwood 9-3. Guard Haylee Friend was the star as her lock down defense netted her 10 steals. Ashleigh Hadley led the Lady Apaches in scoring with 4 points. Aaliyah Perry finished with 2 points, Emma Ryder with 1 point, and Olivia Burns with 2 points.

The Lady Apaches play another RRC conference game this Wednesday at 5:30 PM in Wabash High School Gymnasium.
